WITHIN 10 MINUTES of today's OpenCoffee meet-up in Limerick, I had EUR 30,000 worth of offers on the table. One part of that cash pile was a job offer for a third level graduate. Another pile of money could come from winning the pay-out from a newly-emerging social network. I've written down some things that should help both the job candidate and my ideas may also help position my creative multimedia students inside a EUR 10,000 winner's circle. Check back on this post to see the updates. Capitalism aside, the two-hour session in Limerick's Absolute Hotel helped me learn about transponders on water metres, Kaltura as an open source video editor, smarter working, free space in a data centre, the Dell Redundant Workers Association, an essential education technology event this weekend, and some spirited discussion about Cartoon Saloon's creativity in winning an Oscar nomination. We're adding Plancast as a subscription point for Limerick OpenCoffee (#LOCC plancast/com/a/ebs) and think that the Absolute Hotel meeting next month may attract more than 30 people.
