Across Ireland, enthusiastic teachers from primary to third level attend these upskilling events during the summer. Each year, we get closer to the time when educators at all levels can dip into each others' streams, learning about the tools and the technology that can deliver innovation into the classroom. Events like the e-learning summer school (#elss10) at DIT have figured out the perfect balance between one-way presentation, lively audiece crossfires, deep-diving workshops, excellent catering and an evening dinner to top off proceedings.
We are just halfway through #ELSS10 and I've started floating a proposal for an Educamp Ireland in County Kerry. I'm trying to find anyone on the DIT e-learning week campus who thinks it's a bad idea. And if the week finishes with 20 people expressing their interest in the notion, I'll start looking for sponsors for an Educamp in The Park during the 2011 Reading Week.
